Rajendra Akerkar is Chairman of the Technomathematics Research Foundation, India. He also had formal appointment as professor and head of the Department of Computer Studies at the Chh. Shahu Institute of Business Education & Research, Kolhapur. He received the BOYSCAST (Young Scientist) award of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India in 1997, and was the recipient of the prestigious DAAD fellowship, DAAD Visiting Professorship and UNESCO-TWAS Associate in mathematical sciences.  Rajendra Akerkar's research and teaching assignments have taken him around the world to Germany, Japan, Norway, Austria, Canada, Vietnam, and Armenia. He is also member of IASTED Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems. He is a life member of the Indian Science Congress and the Indian Mathematical Society. Rajendra serves as editor-in-chief of International Journal of Computer Science & Applications and Journal of Hybrid Computing Research, and is on the editorial board of numerous other computer science journals. More than 80 of Akerkar's research articles have been published in reputed national and international journals and he has authored 9 books and edited 4 volumes of international conferences on Artificial Intelligence & Applications of Computer Algebra. His research agenda basically concentrates on learning and natural language --- how each works in the human and how they can be replicated in a machine. His area of interest broadly includes artificial intelligent systems, semi structured data, Web data mining, and semantic web.
