Learning Activities
One
aim of the
TMRF is to co-ordinate teaching in the area of
Technomathematics
and hold regular annual compact courses in the area. Seminars
and
modeling workshops are being conducted for students and teachers at
different levels. In near future, TMRF will offer research
associateship for visiting mathematics and engineering students/
scientists from India & abroad.
TMRF offers
following compact courses for under-graduate and graduate
students :
- Modeling & simulation of real world problems,
- Doing mathematics,
- Applied artificial intelligence
- Algorithms
in real world.
TMRF
also conducts workshops, for school/college/university teachers, on :
- Teaching Mathematics,
- Thinking,
Speaking and Writing Mathematics.
TMRF
has separate cell
for mathematics education at school level. We have developed
& undertaken various Mathematics Popularization
activities,
for example,
- Mathematical Essay Competition & Mathematics Quiz Competition.
- Mathematica Club for school kids.
- TMRF
Partnerships
TMRF
conducts regular
seminars, workshops, compact courses for school & college
students,
especially in Kolhapur district. These programmes are aimed at
motivated high school and beginning college students and young
instructors. These programmes are specially designed to sharpen their
insight into the subject – mathematical science- and sharpen
their mind about different current topics in mathematics and computer
science.
For example, our
Mathematica Club programmes has two aspects:
- To extend the abilities of school/college students in mathematics, above all in career and application related areas.
- To
give
school/college students the opportunity to deepen their understanding
of mathematics and to become acquainted with the
state-of-the-art
mathematical techniques. They will thus be in the position to
tackle the growing number of mathematical problems in modern technology.
TMRF’s Technomathematics popularization activities are conducted in different schools, colleges and even at common location. Many economically backward students are benefited from this project.
Forthcoming Educational Project for Primary & Middle School Teacher Education: (2008-10)

Why should I donate to TMRF? : Your gifts/donation to the TMRF will make it possible for us to do many of the things about which we now dream. A Permanent building, Visiting scholars, support for members and post docs, and ongoing independence and security for the Organization will all come with creation of a permanent TMRF endowment.
