Introduction
International Symposium on Applications of Computer Algebra (ISACA’2000) is devoted to communicate significant developments in all the areas pertinent to “Computer Algebra”. Computer algebra is a more recent branch of Computer Science, where mathematical tools and computer software are developed for exact solution of equations.  An application of computer algebra poses inspiring scientific challenges, which deserve much focused attention. However, there has not yet been a dedicated forum in India, and this symposium addresses the need. It is also expected that further progress can be made through the interaction between computer algebraist  in India and abroad. This symposium is intended to provide a framework for establishing fruitful dialogue.
